NJ VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS - Qualifications - Visit the NJ Vietnam Vets Memorial, write an essay about your visit, submit verification of acceptance at a particular school. Due date is 4/15/11.
AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIPS - 5 scholarships w/qualifications:
Caroline Howarth Memorial Scholarship - child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of Veteran who served during a set period of time (see application for dates), NJ resident for at least 2 years, continuing education after high school.
Claire Oliphant Memorial Scholarship - child, grandchild or great grandchild of Veteran who served during a set period of time (see application for dates), NJ resident for 2 years, continued education after high school.
National President's Scholarship - any relation of a Veteran (including step-children) who served during a set period of time (see application for dates), must have completed 50 hours of volunteer service within the community (written verification).
Dorothy Kellerman Scholarship - child, grandchild or great grandchild of Veteran who served during a set period of time (see application for dates), 2 year resident of NJ, continuing education after high school.
2011 Nursing Scholarship - child, grandchild or great-grandchild of Veteran who served duirng a set period of time (see application for dates), 2 year resident of NJ, continuing education in the field of nursing.
THE EAGLE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP - 3.4 GPA, combined SAT of 1800, recognized as a leader in school or community, attending 4 year college, proven financial aid. Deadline 4/1/11. Additional information available at www.theeaglefoundation.com
NJ CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME SCHOLARSHIP - If you have been diagnosed with CFS and plan to continue your education, you may apply for this scholarship.....http://njcfsa.org The deadline is 4/15/11.
THE 200 CLUB OF BERGEN COUNTY - If you are the child or stepchild of an active, retired or deceased BC law enforcement officer, fire fighter or ambulance corps member or you, yourself, are a member of the above, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. The criteria includes community service, academics, financial. Deadline is 3/31/11.
NJ SHARING NETWORK FOUNDATION/BENJAMIN R. CHIRLS SCHOLARSHIP - If you are planning on continuing your education and are an organ, tissue or eye donor, transplant recipient, donor family member or awareness advocate and in the top 50% ofyour class, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. The deadline is 5/26/11.
THE MARINE TRADES ASSOC. OF NJ (MTA/NJ) - If you are interested in pursuing a career in the boating industry and plan to attend a marine trades program at any school or the Marine Service Tech. Program at the Automotive Training Center in Pennsylvania, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. The deadline is 4/1/11.
SADDLE BROOK EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP - If you are a Saddle Brook resident; maintain a 2.5 or above GPA, and demonstrate leadership abilities through at least one school or community organization, you may qualify to apply for this scholarship. Application forms are available in Guidance and the deadline is 3/31/11.
AMERICAN SOCIETYOF CIVIL ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIPS - If you are planning a career in engineering and have a 3.0 GPA, you qualify to apply for these scholarships. The deadline is 3/25/11 and application forms are available in guidance.
DELTA KAPPA GAMMA SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP - If you are female and planning to pursue a degree in education, you qualify for this nomination. Guidance is only able to nominate two candidates so it will be available to the first two ladies who come to guidance and express interest in it. The deadline is 3/25/11 and an essay is required.
NATIONAL UNICO SCHOLARSHIP - If you are of Italian descent; have a 3.0 GPA; can demonstrate financial need and plan to continue your education for at least 4 more years, you qualify to apply. Pick up applications in Guidance. Deadline is 4/8/11.
SADDLE BROOK UNICO SCHOLARSHIP - If you are of Italian heritage and plan to continue your education at a college or university, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. The deadline is 4/8/11 and applications are available in Guidance.
BERGEN COUNTY SCHOOL COUNSELOR ASSOC. SCHOLARSHIP - If you have a 3.0 GPA and plan to major in education, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. Come to guidance for an application form. Due date is 4/1/11.
ARMENIAN RELIEF SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP - If you are of Armenian heritage; maintain an A-B average with a min. SAT of 1000 and are involved in Armenian Cultural organizations or communities, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. NATIONAL ASSOC. OF WATER COMPANIES - If you are a US Citizen; a NJ resident for 5 yrs.; pursuing a degree in a NJ college or univ (inc. 2 yr. ); maintaining a 3.0 GPA and pursuing a degree in a related field such as, natural resource management, environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, engineering, communication, computer science, bus. admin, human resources, law, accounting, finance; you qualify to apply for this scholarship. Deadline is 4/1/11 and applications are available in Guidance.
BERGEN COUNTY COUNCIL OF PTA'S - This scholarship is awarded to 2 students who will attend a 4 year college or university and 2 students planning to attend a two year college, technical, vocational or business/art school. These nominations will be based upon first/come, first/nominated based upon scholastics, community service, and character. Please let Mrs. Brodt know if you are interested and qualify for these scholarships. Come to Guidance. The deadline is 4/15/11.
THE INSTITUTE OF CULINARY EDUCATION sponsors the ICE Kevin Nurse Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a student who has overcome medical hardship and plans to continue an education in the culinary arts. To apply go to: www.iceculinary.com/career/scholarshps.
THE POMPTONIAN FOOD SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to seniors who demonstrate financial need, work experience, community service. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and the deadline is 4/21/11.
SPENCER SAVINGS BANK offers a scholarship to a Saddle Brook High School senior who is interested in banking, business or finance; has a history of community service and leadership; has an A/B average and a household income below $52,500. Applications are available in Guidance and the deadline is March 30th.
THE BUICK ACHIEVERS SCHOLARSHIP is given to seniors who plan to attend a 4 year college and major in either Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or Design and are interested in a career in the automotive industry. JUNIORS - TRIPLE-IMPACT COMPETITORS SCHOLARSHIP - If you are an athlete who demonstrates personal mastery; leadership and good sportsmanship and who carries these ethics into your school life, you are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applications are available in guidance and the deadline is TBA. GPA requirement is 2.5 and up.
ETS SCHOLARSHIP - If you plan to pursue a vo/tech career or a 2 or 4 yr. degree and you are facing serious and verifiable hardships affecting your ability to attend college, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. The deadline is 4/1/11 and apps. are available in guidance.
PSA CONTEST - All middle and high school students may participate in this contest - you must create a Public Service Announcement to raise awareness about the dangers of underage drinking to be aired on television and radio. It has a 30 second minimum and a 90 second maximum and groups may consist of up to 5 people. Deadline is 4/1/11. Additional info may be obtained at jengland@cafsnj.org or (201) 488-8680.
NJ TOURETTE SYNDROME SCHOLARSHIP - If you are diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome and plan to continue your education, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. Applications are available in Guidance and the deadline is 4/1/11.
LADIES UNICO OF SADDLE BROOK - This scholarship is based on academics, financial need, citizenship and leadership. You must also be of Italian heritage and female. Applications are available in Guidance and the deadline is 4/15/11.
HACKENSACK REGIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE - Senior with a 2.0 GPA minimum and attending an accredited post secondary educational institution with demonstrated community involvement/service. Deadline 5/16/11. Applications available in guidance.
PATRIOTS' PATH COUNCIL - BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA - Applications available in Guidance
1. The BRUCE A BLACK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - If you are an Eagle Scout with a 3.5 GPA and plan to major in COMPUTER SCIENCES, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. Deadline is May 1.
2. The FRANK D. VISCEGLIA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - If you are an Eagle Scout whose Eagle Scout community service projects are related to the environment and/or the economy and your career goals are dedicated to those areas and you plan to attend a 4 year college, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. Deadline is June 1.
THE COLUMBIANS SCHOLARSHIP - If you of Italian heritage and need financial assistance in attending college, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. You should apply at: www.thecolumbians.org
NATIONAL KITCHEN & BATH ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP - If you are planning a career in design (architecture, interior design, kitchen design, CAD, etc.) and plan to continue your education, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. Applications are available in guidance. Deadline is 5/1/11.
SEAN FISHER MEMORIAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP - If you are planning to continue your education (2 or 4 years) and you have between a 2.0 and 3.0 GPA, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. Guidance has application forms. The deadline is 4/18/11.
TEKMARK GLOBAL SOLUTIONS SCHOLARSHIP - If you are planning on attending Rutgers or Rider and majoring in Engineering, Computer Science or Telecommunications you may qualify to apply for this scholarship. DR. AARON R. GRAHAM SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP - If you can demonstrate financial need, have a 3.0 GPA, provide community service and are pursuing a degree in the sciences, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. Application information is available in Guidance. The deadline is 4/15/11.
STACI MEYERS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - If you or someone in your immediate famly is a cancer survivor or dealing with cancer currently or if you have lost an immediate family member to cancer and you are planning to continue your education (2yr, 4yr, technical) and if your GPA is BELOW 3.5, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. Applications are available in the guidance office. This is a local scholarship and the deadline is 4/8/11.
THE THORNTON SISTERS FOUNDATION - If you are a female of color (African-American, Latino-American, Caribbean-American), your grade average is above C+ and you can demonstrate financial need and plan to attend a 4 yr. college, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. Applications are available in guidance and the deadline is May 7.
CLASS OF 1995 DINO COLOMBO/ERIK LEMMER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - If you are proud of being drug-free, are continuing your education, and have been involved in the DARE program or service to the community/school, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. COUNCIL OF IRISH ASSOC. O;F GREATER BERGEN CTY - If you are planning to continue your education and are willing to write an essay based on one of three topics provided, you are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applications are available in guidance and the deadline is 4/20/11.
BUILDERS & REMODELERS ASSOC. OF NJ SCHOLARSHIPS -
1. Donald Van Natta & Alex Sands Memorial Scholarships - Planning to attend accredited institution with the intent of pursuing a construction-related degree or certification....this can include Drafting & Design, Elec. WILL TO WIN SCHOLARSHIP - Merck Respiratory is sponsoring a scholarship for seniors with asthma who are pursuing high er education. You must maintain a 3.5 GPA and be proficient in one of the following areas: Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Community Service, Athletics, Science. COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF NEW JERSEY - (Keith Hightower Scholarship) - If you have participated in a Math or Science competition or participated in independent scientific research during your high school years, you may qualify to apply for this scholarship. BEST COLLEGE ESSAY - If you believe that you have "the best" college essay, all you need to do is submit it for this essay contest. The prize is $1,000 and the due date is April 30. Applications are in Guidance.
